The Agency have over thirty-five (35) Bioresources Development Centers (BIODECS) inclusive of specialized Aquatic Bioresources Centers spread across the federation. The Agency created Six (6) Zonal Centers of Excellence situated in premier Universities in the 6 geopolitical zones of the country to promote Research & Development (R & D) activities and co-ordinate regional biotechnology programmes. The robust structure and activity of The Agency incorporates special centers such as National Centre for Genetic Resources and Biotechnology (NACGRAB), Ibadan, Oyo State. Based on this premise, the programmes of the Agency are structured in line with international standards bearing in mind the development of local technological contents.
The Director-General/CEO and the entire management remain resolute in promoting, coordinating and deploying cutting-edge biotechnology research & development technique cum products for the socio–economic well-being of the nation. The Vision of the Agency in promoting biotechnology activities that positively respond to national aspirations on food security, job/wealth creation, affordable healthcare delivery and sustainable environment remains a priority.
