
The Director General of (NBRDA) represented the Agency at the stakeholder meeting on Nigeria’s Halal Economy
The Director General of the National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency (NBRDA), Prof. Abdullahi Mustapha, represented the Agency at the stakeholder meeting on Nigeria’s Halal Economy Strategy aimed at strengthening the country’s position in the global halal market valued at over $7 trillion.
The meeting, chaired by the Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Doris Anite-Uzoka, reviewed ongoing reforms to establish a National Halal Authority framework, strengthen compliance with international standards, and enhance certification and traceability systems to improve Nigeria’s global trade competitiveness.
The engagement aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen NBRDA’s involvement in the halal ecosystem and related bio-based industrial value chains
