Established in 2014 by National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency (NBRDA), under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, it is located in the heart of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. BIODEC Abuja is a practical demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to invigorate wealth creation and employment generation at the grassroot level.

Our Biotechnology Research and Development (R&D) division is dedicated to advancing innovative solutions that address critical challenges in health, agriculture, industry, and the environment. We combine cutting-edge science with practical applications to improve lives, drive sustainable development, and strengthen national capacity in biotechnology.
Our R&D efforts focus on discovering, developing, and deploying biotechnology products and technologies that promote economic growth, enhance food security, improve healthcare delivery, and support environmental conservation.
