Bioresources Development Centre (BIODEC), Bogoro, was created in 2016, it operates on it permanent site located on approximately 21 hectares of land, at adjacent National Open University, along Gobbiya/Lussa Road, Bogoro Bauchi State. The Certificate of Occupancy (C.o.O) granted to BIODEC Bogoro, by Bogoro Local Government Council, on behalf of Governor of Bauchi State was submitted to the Ag.DG/CEO NABDA in August 2020.

We employ a multidisciplinary approach that integrates molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, and computational sciences. Our laboratories are equipped with modern facilities for experimental research, pilot production, and field testing.
The Centre has functional administrative building. The following construction are yet to be completed due to lack of funds: 1.mushroom building, 2.feedmill building, 3. training hall, 4.canteen, 5. tissue culture laboratory, 6. Director’s lodge, 7. Chalets.8. fishery, 9.hatchery and 10, perimeter fence.
Grassroots empowerment of Bauchi State and environs through Commercialisation of the Research, Development and Production of the Indigenous Bioresources like livestock, crops and trees.
Diversification of Nigeria’s Economy through development of Indigenous Bioresources using Biotechnology techniques.
The Centre has many scientific officers and animal scientists but does not have functional laboratories and equipment.

Skill in snailry production and incubation, production of Bio-organic fertilizer, apiary (Bee keeping), Poultry production
Skill in the establishment of Rubber plantation
