Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology (OFAB) Nigeria Media Awards and Gala Nite.

During the week, we hosted the 9th Edition of the Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology (OFAB) Nigeria Media Awards and Gala Nite.

It served as a platform to celebrate journalists and media professionals whose evidence-based reporting has significantly advanced public understanding, policy engagement, and the development of agricultural biotechnology in Nigeria.

Over the years, OFAB Nigeria, under the auspices of the National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency (NBRDA), has built a strong bridge between science and society, bringing together the voices of farmers, scientists, policymakers, and journalists to shape a smarter and more resilient agricultural future for Nigeria.

This year’s edition brought together journalists, scientists, heads of parastatals, policymakers, and stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

Congratulations to Juliana Agbo of The Nation Newspaper, who emerged as the Print Category Winner and Overall Winner of the 2025 OFAB Media Awards, as well as Gloria Attah (TV Category Winner), Muhammad Auwal (Radio Category Winner), and Khalid Yusuf of Rhama TV, recipient of the NBRDA Director General’s Award.

I thank all our distinguished guests. Your presence and participation enriched the event.

My profound appreciation also goes to our invaluable partner, the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), for its collaboration and continued support in advancing biotechnology in Nigeria.

Congratulations once again to all the winners. Continue to communicate science with clarity, truth, passion, and excellence, as we build a more informed, food-secure, and thriving Nigeria.
